Re-fiscalisation or New Account?

If a customer's owner, company name or Sales Point registration details change, there are two paths: a re-fiscalisation in the existing account or a new account. Which one applies depends on whether the legal owner changes.

Which path applies when

Case

Path

Business takeover — a new legal owner takes over the business

Create a new account (recommended)

Error in the Sales Point registration, e.g. a typo in the tax number

Re-fiscalisation in the existing account

Change of company name — same owner, new company name

Re-fiscalisation in the existing account

Why a new account for a business takeover

An account holds the financial and personal data of the previous operator. The new owner should not have access to it. That is why we recommend a new account for a business takeover. If something else has been explicitly agreed with the customer, a re-fiscalisation in the existing account is also possible.

What happens in a re-fiscalisation

A re-fiscalisation does not change the existing Sales Point — it replaces it. With your order, bessa creates:

  • a new Sales Point with a new Sales Point licence, including secondary terminals and all ordered features — exactly as they appear in the order,

  • a new company and a new location with the correct details, linked to the new Sales Point.

Anything missing from the order is therefore also missing from the new Sales Point. The order has to reproduce the existing configuration exactly.

Order a re-fiscalisation

  1. Switch to the customer's account — see Change account.

  2. Click the account icon at the top right and select Create account.

  3. Select Extend existing customer.

  4. In the Company section, select Add new company and enter the correct details — such as the corrected tax number or the new company name.

  5. In the Location section, select Add new location and enter the location details.

  6. In the Contract section, order exactly the same configuration as in the existing contract: the same main package and all add-ons in the same quantity — for example card payment, secondary terminals, order monitors, stock management, vouchers and customer management.

  7. Additionally select the Neufiskalisierung (re-fiscalisation) package under Services.

  8. Click Order with obligation to pay.

Before submitting, compare the order with the existing contract, for example using the credentials email of the original order. A different main package, a missing add-on or the missing Neufiskalisierung package are the most common mistakes.

After the order

  1. You and bessa support receive the order confirmation "Vertragserweiterung für ‹company›" by email. It creates a ticket at support.

  2. Your technician moves all devices — Sales Point, secondary terminals, order monitors and others — on their own: sign out of the old Sales Point licence and sign in with the new one. From then on, the customer works only with the new Sales Point.

  3. Reply to the order confirmation or the related support ticket once the switchover is done and the old Sales Point licence can be deactivated.

  4. bessa then deactivates the old Sales Point licence.

bessa support does not get in touch on its own. The old Sales Point licence stays active until you confirm the switchover in the ticket.

Your customer deregisters the old Sales Point with the tax authorities and registers the new one themselves — bessa does not do this. The steps are in the Help under Fiscalisation.
