As a tax advisory firm, you are a partner on bessa: your clients connect your firm to their bessa account, and your staff access it with their own logins. This page describes how your firm gets access, what you can do in your clients' accounts, and how you manage your team.
How your firm gets connected
Access is always granted by your client — themselves or through their reseller — in bessa Manager under Partner access. You cannot connect yourself to an account. Point your client to the guide Partner Access.
-
Your firm is not yet on bessa: your client invites the firm. The invited person receives an email to set their password and is then your firm's administrator — see Accept an Invitation.
-
Your firm is already on bessa: your client finds it by the firm name or by the email address of one of your staff. Access is granted immediately, no email is sent. The account appears for all your staff under Change account.
The client can remove the access at any time, for example when the engagement ends. It then ends immediately for all your staff.
What you can do in your client's account

Scope |
|---|---|
|
Read |
Reports, analyses and data exports — see Export Data |
|
Edit |
The chart of accounts fields: Account number on tax types, article groups and payment methods, plus Accounting symbol and Cost center on the Sales Points |
|
Not possible |
Any other change, for example to articles, prices, users or Sales Point settings |
You are best placed to maintain the account numbers yourself so that they match your chart of accounts — how the exports for RZL, BMD and DATEV use them is described under Export Data.
Your client sees in the Audit Log when your firm was connected or removed, and your staff do not appear in their user list.
Manage your team
You decide who at your firm has access: an administrator of your firm invites and removes staff — see Manage Staff.
Every staff member of your firm has access to all clients connected to your firm. Only invite people who work with these clients, each with their own access instead of one firm login for everyone, and remove access immediately when someone leaves the firm.
Your client does not need to do anything when someone joins or leaves your firm.
Data protection
The access is governed by the Data Access Agreement for Tax Advisors and Accountants. Practical guidance for the firm is in the Information Sheet for Tax Advisors and Accountants.
