Under Partner access in bessa Manager you see which reseller and which tax advisors can access your account. You connect your tax advisor here yourself: search for the firm, invite it if it is not yet on bessa, and remove the access as soon as the engagement ends.
Connect a firm or only add a person?
Check first which case applies — the two are often confused:

Your consent applies to the firm, not to an individual. All staff of the firm can access your account, including people the firm adds later. How the firm manages its staff is described under Manage Staff.
Where to find Partner access
In bessa Manager, click Partner access in the main menu.
The menu entry is visible to the users of your account who have access to bessa Manager, and to your reseller. Staff of a tax advisory firm do not see it — a firm cannot grant itself access to further accounts.
The overview
The list shows every partner connected to your account, with name, type (Reseller or Accountant) and the date since which the connection exists.
For tax advisors, the stored Consent is shown as well: when and by whom it was given, and whether by the customer themselves or on behalf.
Your reseller appears in the list but cannot be removed here. To change your reseller, contact bessa support.
Add a tax advisor
-
Under Partner access, click Add accountant.
-
In the search field, enter the firm's name (at least three characters) or the full email address of one of the firm's staff, and select the firm in the list.
-
If the search does not find your firm, it is not on bessa yet. Click Invite firm and enter the Firm name as well as the Email, First name and Last name of your contact there.
-
In the Confirm consent step, read the note on the scope of access and tick the checkbox.
-
Click Add.
An existing firm has access immediately. For an invitation, bessa creates the firm and sends your contact an email to set their password. That person becomes the firm's administrator and then invites their colleagues themselves.
If the email address you enter when inviting already belongs to a staff member of a firm on bessa, the Manager connects that firm to your account. No invitation is sent; the message reads The existing firm has been linked to this account.
The consent
A tax advisor cannot be added without confirmed consent. By ticking the checkbox you confirm that you are entitled to grant the access, and that the firm may read your reports and edit the chart of accounts.
bessa stores the time, the person who consented, and the kind of consent. You do not choose the kind — it follows from who adds the tax advisor:
-
by the customer themselves — a user of your account added the tax advisor.
-
on behalf — your reseller or bessa support added them on your behalf.
Connections set up before Partner access was introduced show no consent.
What your tax advisor can see and change
Staff of a firm work in your account with restricted rights:
-
Read: reports, analyses and data exports, for example for RZL, BMD or DATEV.
-
Edit: only the chart of accounts fields — the Account number on tax types, article groups and payment methods, plus Accounting symbol and Cost center on the Sales Points.
bessa rejects every other change. Your tax advisor cannot change articles, prices, users or Sales Point settings.
Staff of the firm do not appear in your list under Users. Who at the firm has access is decided by the firm.
Remove a tax advisor
-
Under Partner access, click Remove access in the firm's row.
-
Confirm with Remove access.
The access ends immediately. All staff of this firm lose access to your account.
Tracing changes
Every time a tax advisor is added or removed, the Audit Log records it under the type Account partner — with the person who acted and, when adding, the consent. The removal entry is kept even though the connection itself is deleted.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
My tax advisor has a new employee. Do I need to do anything? No. An administrator of the firm invites the employee, who then has access to your account automatically.
Can I restrict access to individual staff of the firm? No. The consent applies to the firm and therefore to all of its staff.
Can my reseller connect the tax advisor for me? Yes. Your reseller can add and remove tax advisors on your behalf. The consent is then stored as on behalf.
The firm did not receive the invitation email. Ask your contact to check their spam folder. The link in the email is valid for three days; after that, they request a new link via Forgot Password on the Manager sign-in page.
