With inventory management you keep track of your articles' stock levels in one or more warehouses. Sales and voids at the Sales Point update the stock level automatically; deliveries, shrinkage, stocktaking and transfers are recorded in the bessa Manager or directly at the Sales Point.
Prerequisites
-
Inventory management is enabled for your account. bessa or your reseller enables it for the first time and sets up the warehouse for each location.
-
Your user role includes the Warehouse Management permission. It allows opening the warehouse view and editing stock levels, both in the Manager and at the Sales Point. See User Roles and Permissions Management.
-
Stock management is enabled for the articles whose stock you want to track. See Set Up Articles for Inventory Management.
How Inventory Management Works
Warehouses: Every location has a branch warehouse. Below it you can create any number of sub-warehouses, for example one per bar, and assign them to a Sales Point or an area. See Create and Edit Warehouses.
Articles: Stock is only tracked for articles with stock management enabled. Portion articles (e.g. a glass of wine) deduct a share of the main article's stock (e.g. the bottle) via the main article and the volume content.
Bookings: Every change to a stock level is a booking. You can see all bookings of an article in the Stock History. The totals per article for one warehouse and one period are shown in the Stock Movement Report.
