Table Bookings

In table-service mode, orders are not closed out immediately — they are posted onto a table. Multiple orders for the same table are aggregated, can later be added to, transferred between tables, and paid for in whole or in part. This is the typical workflow for classic restaurant service.

Module prerequisite: The table module must be licensed for your location. The concrete rooms and tables are configured in the bessa Manager under Rooms & Tables; nothing is configured on the Sales Point itself.

Open the tables view

Tap Tables in the main menu. The tables are displayed per room in a schematic layout — each tile shows:

  • the table number

  • the currently open total

  • the number of sub-groups (e.g. when a table has been split into separate sub-groups — analogous to parking an order)

Occupied tables are distinguishable from free tables by colour or by the indicated total.

Switch rooms or find a table

  • Switch room: Tap the room name in the header bar — a list of every available room opens. Selecting a different room loads its tables.

  • Open tables: In the same list you find the Open tables entry — it opens a list of all open tables and sub-groups across every room.

  • Find a table directly: Tap the magnifier icon in the top right and enter the table number. If the table is in another room, the room is switched automatically.

Table detail and sub-groups

After selecting a table you see its current status — every article posted so far with quantities and unit prices.

When several sub-groups exist (e.g. "Table 01/02" and "Table 01/03"), you can switch between them via the header bar. Each sub-group is a separate order on the same table — typical when several guests at the same table want to pay separately.

From the table detail view three actions are available: Order (bottom left), Pay (bottom right), and via the options menu (three dots) Void and Transfer.

Post an order onto a table

  1. Tap Order in the table detail view. The ordering screen opens.

  2. Post articles into the cart as usual (see Create an order).

  3. Optionally switch to a new sub-group in this view — the switch works analogous to parking an order.

  4. Tap Order to confirm.

After confirmation, an order chit is printed (kitchen, bar, …) and the newly posted articles appear in the table detail view.

Void articles

From the table detail view, individual articles or all articles of a table or sub-group can be voided back out.

  1. Open the void view via the options menu.

  2. Per article: Tap the red void column to increment the void quantity step by step, or use a long press to select or reset the full quantity directly.

  3. Via the options menu you can select all articles or reset the selection.

  4. Confirm with Confirm / Void.

A void chit is printed; the voided articles are removed from the table total. If every article is voided, the table or sub-group is closed automatically.

This void affects articles that have not yet been paid for on the table. If an invoice was already closed out, use Void an invoice instead.

Transfer articles to another table

Individual or all articles can be transferred to another table or sub-group — for example when guests change tables.

  1. Open the transfer view via the options menu.

  2. Per article, select the quantity to transfer — the controls are identical to voiding (red/green quantity columns, long press, options-menu mass select).

  3. Choose the target table at the bottom (using the table picker).

  4. Confirm with Transfer.

If every article is transferred, the source table or sub-group is closed automatically.

Pay a table in whole or in part

Paying follows the same logic as voiding and transferring.

  1. Tap Pay in the bottom right.

  2. Per article, select the quantity to pay.

  3. Choose the payment method (see Close out and pay).

  4. Confirm with Pay.

An invoice is created and printed. If every article is paid, the table or sub-group is closed automatically.
