Sales Points

Overview

Sales Points (also called terminals) are virtual licences for points of sale in bessa Kassa. They can be tied to a location or operated as mobile Sales Points independent of any location. Each Sales Point is always assigned to a company.

Via Sales Point management in bessa Kassa Manager, you can view, configure and manage your Sales Points.

Sales Point Types

Location-bound Sales Points

Sales Points that are assigned to a specific location and operated there.

Typical uses:

  • Restaurants and cafés

  • Retail shops

  • Branches with fixed locations

Mobile Sales Points

Locationless Sales Points that can be used flexibly in different places.

Typical uses:

  • Taxi and mobile service providers (masseurs, physiotherapists)

  • Food trucks

  • Trade fairs and events

  • Mobile sales

Main Sales Points and Sub-Terminals

Main Sales Points

A Main Sales Point (Hauptkassa) is the central Sales Point that operates independently and can optionally be connected to Sub-Terminals.

Sub-Terminals

Sub-Terminals (Nebenterminals) are connected on the local network to their parent Main Sales Point and share certain functions with it:

Shared settings (shared with the Main Sales Point):

  • Sales point closing

  • Number range

  • Cash book

  • Fiscalisation/signature

Individual settings (can be configured per Sub-Terminal):

  • Display and order screen

  • Card terminal

  • Users

  • ...and more

Important: Sub-Terminals can only be operated when the associated Main Sales Point is switched on and reachable via the local network.

Filters for Sales Points

Hardware Binding

How does hardware binding work?

Sales Points are virtual licences that are bound to a hardware device on first login:

  1. The user logs in with the Sales Point on a device

  2. The Sales Point is automatically connected to that device

  3. As long as this connection exists, the Sales Point CANNOT be logged in on another device

Switch hardware

To use a Sales Point on a new device:

  1. On the old device: log out

  2. On the new device: log in with the same Sales Point

Tip: If a device is broken or stolen, you can forcibly disconnect the hardware binding via Sales Point control.

Offline Operation

Main Sales Points

Main Sales Points can also work without an internet connection and store all data locally in the meantime. As soon as an internet connection is available again, the data is automatically synchronised with the cloud.

Important: Note country-specific restrictions of fiscalisation during offline operation. A regular internet connection is mandatory for data backup.

The offline status is shown in the status menu of the Sales Point.

Sub-Terminals

Sub-Terminals require at least a connection to the local network in order to communicate with the Main Sales Point. They CANNOT be operated without a connection to the Main Sales Point.

Edit a Sales Point

To edit a Sales Point, click on:

  • The pencil icon (✏️) in the Sales Point's row, OR

  • Directly on the Sales Point row

  6. Cash Book - Cash book activation and settings

  7. Users - User assignment

  8. Control - Hardware management and remote control

  • Users

  • Control

  • bessa (customer loyalty only)
