"10 massages for the price of 9" or a five-session card for foot care: multi-session blocks bind customers and bring the money in advance. The customer wants to know at any time how many sessions are left. bessa has no dedicated article that counts units; a voucher with a balance models the block cleanly, though. This guide shows the way and an alternative for loyalty rewards.
The block as a voucher with a balance
With local vouchers (the Sales Point's Voucher Management module) you sell the block as a value voucher. Each redemption deducts the price of one treatment from the balance until the block is used up.
Setup
-
For redemption, create one article per service at the block price per unit, e.g. "Massage 60 min (block)" at €54 if ten massages cost €540.
-
Check with your tax advisor whether the block is to be treated as a single-purpose or a multi-purpose voucher. This decides which article group the voucher article sits in, see Sell a voucher.
Selling the block
Book the Voucher article with the value of the block, e.g. €540, link the customer and take payment. The customer receives a voucher slip with a barcode. Tip: note the voucher number in the customer's comment field; then you find the block even if the customer doesn't have the slip with them.
Redemption at every appointment
-
Book the service at the block price, e.g. "Massage 60 min (block)".
-
Scan the voucher or enter its code via Redeem voucher. The amount is deducted from the balance; the rest stays on the voucher.
How much is left is shown at the Sales Point in the Vouchers menu with all transactions; a remaining balance of €270 corresponds to five open sessions at €54 each. See Redeem a voucher.
If the customer books a more expensive service in between, it is also paid from the balance. This makes the block more flexible than a pure unit count.
Alternative: stamp card as a loyalty reward
If nothing is paid in advance but every tenth treatment should be free, a stamp card in the bessa WhiteLabel app fits: the customer collects one stamp per treatment and redeems the full card for a free treatment. It requires bessa customer loyalty with the WhiteLabel app, see Bonus cards.
Frequently asked questions
The customer lost their voucher slip. What now? Find the voucher in the Vouchers menu, e.g. by the number you noted, and print it again.
Can the block be passed on to another customer? A voucher belongs to whoever presents it. A block given as a gift can therefore simply be redeemed by the recipient.
