With bessa POS 5.6 we deliver on two promises from the last announcement – bessa Sign is here, and Croatia is on board. On top of that, 5.6 introduces a dark mode for sun-drenched workplaces, faster customer management on satellite terminals, and noticeably better readability in everyday use.

🔏 bessa Sign – another directly integrated service
Alongside bessa Pay, we are introducing bessa Sign – another service that is fully integrated into our products, with no separate app, no extra hardware, and no external account. bessa Sign takes care of the fiscally compliant signing of every receipt, buffers short-term offline periods, archives the fiscal receipt chain over the long term, and produces audit-ready exports for the tax authority.
In Austria, bessa Sign additionally handles the fully automated communication with FinanzOnline – registration, outage report, annual receipt report, and decommissioning all run without manual intervention. Available in Austria (RKSV) as well as Croatia, Slovenia, and Slovakia; support for Germany is also live.

🌙 Dark mode – readable even in bright sunlight
bessa POS now follows the system setting for dark mode. This is especially handy wherever bright backgrounds make work harder: in outdoor dining areas under direct sunlight, at terrace bars, or at outdoor event sales points. A bonus: on many devices, dark surfaces also save battery.
👥 Customer management now available on satellite terminals
Starting with 5.6, you can create, edit, and logically delete customer and address records directly on satellite terminals – no more trips to the main sales point for a quick master-data update during service. Prerequisite: the master software is also running 5.6.0 or higher.
🇭🇷 bessa goes Croatia – another country on board
Following bessa goes Germany, we are opening up our next market with version 5.6: Croatia. bessa Sign meets the Croatian fiscalisation requirements, and the POS interface is now also available in Croatian.
This step is made possible by our valuable partnerships for fiscal signing and archiving across jurisdictions. The same architecture already carries us in Slovenia and Slovakia – and is prepared for further countries.
