2026-07-06 - bessa POS 6.0: Hospitality, Cloud & Service Center

With bessa POS 6.0 we open the Sales Point up to hospitality businesses: guest rooms become an area of their own, with bookings, check-in/check-out and billing to the room. At the same time, printer and beverage-dispenser settings move to the cloud, a new device signs in within seconds via a QR code, and the new Service Center shows printer status and running services with their logs right inside the Sales Point.

🎯 The Highlights at a Glance

🏨 Hospitality: Guest Rooms as Their Own Area

Alongside tables, from 6.0 you also manage guest rooms as a dedicated area – as a plain list, as a floor plan, or as a day-by-day booking timeline that scrolls endlessly into the future and jumps to any date.

  • Bookings with check-in and check-out are created straight from the room overview – on the Main Sales Point and on satellite terminals alike. If two bookings overlap, the Sales Point warns you and, if needed, allows a deliberate "Create anyway".

  • Assign a guest to a booking – the guest appears across the order and payment screens and on the receipt, and can be tapped and changed while ordering or taking payment.

  • Billing to the room: open orders are charged via the new Room payment method to a checked-in booking – by searching for a room or guest, or by scanning the room card. Everything is settled together at checkout, and the rebooking is printed as a signable receipt.

  • The NFC room card is acknowledged with a beep and an on-screen confirmation when scanned, and invoices show the service period (e.g. a room stay from check-in to check-out) when it spans more than the invoice day.

Open rooms, open tables and open counter accounts now each have their own view with an accurate count – keeping restaurant and accommodation cleanly separated at a glance.

The integration with the Casablanca hotel software is already in progress. It is technically complete and will become available shortly after technical acceptance – we will let you know as soon as it is ready.

☁️ Printer & Beverage-Dispenser Settings in the Cloud

From 6.0, your device setup is no longer tied to a single device:

  • Printer settings live in the cloud – the configured printers, their roles, and the per-room and per-floor assignments are restored automatically after logging in on a new device or swapping a cashier, and can be viewed and changed centrally. The device reports the printers it discovers so you can assign them remotely.

  • Beverage-dispenser settings live in the cloud – each dispenser's connection configuration (USB/serial or fixed IP), including per-room and per-floor settings, is likewise restored automatically and managed centrally. Existing local settings are migrated automatically on first start.

A device is therefore correctly set up again the moment you log in – with nothing to reconfigure. See Printer Settings and Dispenser Systems for details.

🖥️ Satellite Terminals Without Configuration

From 6.0 a satellite terminal is ready to use with virtually no setup: it adopts the Main Sales Point's print settings automatically. You only need to configure a printer on the satellite when it should behave differently from the Main Sales Point – for example with its own kitchen buzzer or a different number of copies.

You maintain the print setup centrally on the Main Sales Point instead of repeating it on every terminal. That means far less setup and maintenance, a faster installation and a faster device swap.

📷 Quick Connect: Sign In by QR Code

You now sign a new device in by scanning a short-lived, encrypted QR code – with no password to type:

  • A satellite terminal scans the code shown on the Main Sales Point.

  • A Main Sales Point scans a code generated in the web manager.

The device is signed in as the same user who generated the QR code – faster and simpler than logging in by hand. That speeds up setup and makes swapping or adding a device far easier: all you need is access to the Main Sales Point, without having to know the user's password.

🩺 Service Center Inside the Sales Point

The state of your Sales Point is now visible at a glance – no support call, no guesswork. Settings gains three new sections:

  • Printer status – every configured printer with its width, connection type and live status; per row you see the role and room assignments, run a test print, or refresh the connection.

  • Services – the status of each background service, why a stopped service isn't running, plus a restart. For any service you open its log directly – an on-device log viewer with a live tail, history on demand and filtering by severity, tag or text (colour-coded).

  • Sub-terminal overview (on the Main Sales Point) – online status with the live and configured IP, a flag for active demo mode, and the connection status, IP and device details for each satellite terminal.

Notices, warnings and errors in the status menu are now tappable and take you straight to the screen that resolves the reported issue.

🆕 More New Features in bessa POS 6.0

  • Customer discount groups – assign a reusable discount group to a customer; the discount applies automatically when booking and paying.

  • Customer price levels – assign a price level to a customer; the prices in the cart are recalculated automatically, even when the level isn't currently active at the location.

  • In-app language switching – choose German, English or Croatian right in the Sales Point, plus a light or dark appearance (or one that follows the system setting).

  • Invoice preview during payment – print a preview for the items currently selected to pay, including the discount, redeemed vouchers and tip.

  • Quick-start dashboard – the welcome screen shows a grid of the available functions; a function opens with a single tap.

  • Card refunds with GP tom – GP tom terminals can now return money to a card, for example when paying out a voucher credit.

In Austria, RKSV signing is stricter from 6.0: if the certificate does not match the register's VAT ID, tax number or GLN, signing is blocked, and a new register cannot be initialised without a valid certificate.
