That means no configuration and no additional app. bessa Pay is also integrated into bessa Manager, giving you direct access to transaction details, payouts, and more. Our platform addresses the most common pain points of other payment solutions.

Customer-device requirements apply only to Tap to Pay – the bessa hardware terminals are shipped pre-configured and are not subject to these requirements.
Technical requirements
Tap to Pay works with a wide range of Android devices – smartphones, tablets, kiosks, handhelds, and more. You can only discover and connect to devices that meet all of the following criteria:

Has a working, integrated NFC sensor and an ARM-based processor.

Is not rooted; the device bootloader is locked and unmodified.

Runs Android 13 or higher.

A security update from within the last 12 months is installed.

Uses Google Mobile Services and has the Google Play Store installed.

Has a hardware-backed keystore with ECDH support (
FEATURE_HARDWARE_KEYSTORE≥ 100). -
Has a stable internet connection.

Runs the unmodified vendor-provided operating system.

Developer options are disabled.
Android device emulators are not supported.

Some manufacturers ship both GMS-certified and non-GMS-certified variants of the same model. On a non-certified device, Tap to Pay refuses activation with a corresponding error – contact the device manufacturer in that case.
The list is continuously expanded as new devices are certified.
FAQ
My device is not listed – will Tap to Pay still work?
If your device meets all technical requirements, support is likely but not guaranteed. Try activation in bessa POS: if it fails, the error message will state the exact reason.
What happens if the security update becomes older than 12 months?
Tap to Pay refuses activation until a current security update from the device manufacturer is installed. Already activated devices receive a warning once the period is exceeded.
Do I need additional hardware for Tap to Pay?
No. The smartphone or tablet itself is the terminal – the card or digital wallet is held directly against the device's built-in NFC sensor.
