Custom Receipt Printer

The Custom entry in the printer selection of the Sales Point stands for the receipt printers of the Italian manufacturer Custom S.p.A. It is not a generic driver for any receipt printer: the Sales Point talks to these printers through the manufacturer's interface and only recognises Custom devices.

Printers from other manufacturers cannot be connected through the Custom entry, not even with a manually entered IP address. Use a printer from one of the supported manufacturers, see Receipt printers.

Supported connection types

  • USB: on the first connection, Android asks for permission to use the USB device. Confirm the prompt.

  • Network: the search finds Custom printers on the network automatically. Alternatively, enter the IP address manually. Port 9100 is always used; any other port is ignored.

  • Bluetooth: pair the printer in the Android Bluetooth settings first. The Sales Point only lists printers that are already paired.

A network printer must be in the same subnet as the Sales Point device. If it is in another subnet, the search still finds it, but the connection fails. As with all network printers, give the printer a fixed IP address.

Supported printer models

Receipt printers from Custom S.p.A. are supported, for example:

  • P3

  • P30

  • PLUS2 / PM2

Features

  • Logo, barcodes and QR codes on receipts

  • Cash drawer and buzzer on the printer's drawer port

  • Paper width: automatic detection or fixed 58 mm or 80 mm, see Printer settings

  • Partial cut of the receipt

If the printer reports a fault such as paper out, cover open or paper jam, the Sales Point prints the receipt again once the fault is cleared. Paper running low is only reported as a warning.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Can I use "Custom" to connect a printer that is not on the list? No. "Custom" is the manufacturer's name, not a user-defined printer. The Sales Point only supports printers from the listed manufacturers.

My Custom network printer is found but does not connect. Check that the printer and the Sales Point device are in the same subnet and that the printer is reachable on port 9100.

The Bluetooth printer does not appear in the search. Turn on Bluetooth and pair the printer in the Android settings first.
