Promotions

With promotions in the bessa Manager, you create offers and discounts that appear directly in your customers' bessa white-label app. Promotions can run for a limited time or permanently and offer various discount and bonus mechanisms.

bessa supports seven promotion types:

Promotion type	Description
Info card	Shows information without a bonus — e.g. opening hours, events
Value discount	A fixed or percentage discount on the order value
Item discount	Discount on specific items
Order discount	Discount on the entire order
Quantity discount	Discount for larger order quantities
Point redemption	Customers redeem collected points for rewards
Top-up	A bonus is credited to another card the customer holds

Create a new promotion

In the bessa Manager, open Customer Loyalty → Promotions.
Click + New in the top right.
Choose the desired promotion type.
Fill in the form and click Save.

Basic data

Every promotion has the following basic fields (identical to bonus cards):

Name (required, max. 32 characters) — Internal name for the Manager.
Title (max. 32 characters) — Displayed on the promotion card in the app.
Subtitle

(max. 70 characters)
Description

(max. 220 characters)
Location — Location assignment.
User scope — Whether it applies only to new or also to existing customers.
Card active — Only active promotions are visible in the app.

Set the time range

Unlike bonus cards, promotions have an optional time range:

Start — From this point onwards, the promotion card is visible in the app.
End (optional) — The promotion is automatically deactivated when the end date is reached.

Note
If you leave the end date empty, the promotion runs indefinitely — until you deactivate it manually.

Settings per promotion type

Value discount

Discount value — Fixed deduction amount.
Bonus behaviour — As an absolute value or in percent.
Redemptions per customer — Maximum redemptions per customer.
Redeemable on order type — Control which order type the discount applies to.
Redeemable by staff — May staff redeem the promotion at the Kassa?

Point redemption

Discount value in % — Percentage equivalent of the redeemed points.
Bonus behaviour — In percent.
Point bonus card — Choose the linked point card.
Points per redemption — How many points are deducted per redemption?

Important
Point-redemption promotions and Redeemable Items are mutually exclusive. You can only use one of the two methods at a time.

Customise promotion design

In the Design section you shape the promotion card's appearance in the app:

Card colour & text colour
Card image — 1005 × 670 px, max. 1 MB (PNG or JPEG)
Redeem button (iOS) — Style of the redeem button.
Button colour (Android)

Note
The live preview shows the front and back of the promotion card in real time.

Push notifications

You can set up push notifications for every promotion — identical to the function for Bonus Cards. Messages are sent to all users of your white-label app.

Filter and search promotions

Filter promotions by type (all seven types) and status (active, scheduled, expired, inactive).

Edit and delete a promotion

Edit: the ⋮ menu of the promotion → Edit.
Delete: ⋮ menu → Delete.

Important
Deleted promotions cannot be restored. Deactivate a promotion (uncheck Card active) if you want to pause it only temporarily.
