Pricing levels enable different price structures for items based on consumption type, time period, or promotion. Learn how to set up flexible prices for in-house, pick-up, and delivery.
What are Pricing Levels?
Pricing levels define different price structures for your items that can deviate from the standard price. With pricing levels, you can set flexible prices based on consumption type, time of day, or occasion – for example, different prices for in-house consumption and pick-up, happy hour promotions, or seasonal offers.
Each pricing level is assigned to a consumption type and receives a unique name. You set the specific prices for each pricing level on the respective item.
Without a defined pricing level, the item's standard price applies automatically.
Consumption Types
Consumption types describe how your customers consume the products. bessa Kassa provides three fixed consumption types:
|
Consumption Type |
Description |
|---|---|
|
🍽️ In House |
Customer consumes the order directly in the establishment |
|
📦 Pick Up |
Customer picks up the order themselves |
|
🚚 Delivery |
Order is delivered to the customer |
The consumption type can have tax implications. In Germany, for example, different tax rates apply for food consumed on-site versus take-away. Clarify tax specifics with your tax advisor.
Use Cases for Pricing Levels
Pricing levels offer versatile applications:
-
Consumption-dependent prices: Different prices for in-house, pick-up, and delivery
-
Time-based promotions: Happy hour, lunch menus, breakfast prices
-
Seasonal offers: Christmas promotions, summer festival prices
-
Marketing campaigns: Discount promotions, special offers for specific periods
-
Event pricing: Special prices for events or holidays
How Do Pricing Levels Work?
Setting up pricing levels involves three steps:
1. Create Pricing Level
In the Item Management > Pricing Levels section, create new pricing levels with a unique name and the associated consumption type.
2. Set Prices on Items
For each article, define the specific prices for the desired pricing levels. Each item can have an individual price for each pricing level.
3. Configure Availability at the Sales Point
At the respective sales point, specify under Display which pricing levels are available and optionally define time restrictions.
The default consumption type, priorities when multiple pricing levels are active, and time restrictions are configured in the Display configuration of the register.
Managing Pricing Levels
Pricing levels can be created, edited, and deleted at any time. There is no limit to the number of pricing levels.
Deleting a pricing level affects all items using that pricing level. Check which items are affected before deleting.
