Overview
Remote control enables you to centrally manage and control your sales point systems directly from the bessa Kassa Manager. You can view detailed device information, perform maintenance tasks, and provide support logs for error analysis – without direct access to the physical device.
Sales Point Details
In the upper section of the control page, you'll find comprehensive information about the status and hardware of your sales point:
Device Information
-
Version: Shows the currently installed version of the bessa Kassa app
-
Device: Hardware information about the sales point system in use
-
Last Online: Time of the last connection to the server
-
Operating System: Installed operating system and version
-
Status: Current activation status of the sales point (Active, Active until, Inactive)
For detailed information about the different sales point status types, see the article Sales Points.
Remote Control Functions
Synchronize Changed Data
Uploads only the data that has changed since the last synchronization between the sales point and server. This is the standard option for regular data synchronization.
When to use:
-
For normal, regular synchronization
-
For minor data updates
Note on Master Data: Changes to master data (company, location, address) are always applied only after the daily closing to ensure consistent display throughout the day.
Synchronize All Data
Warning: This function should only be used in special cases.
During this synchronization, all local changes are first backed up and uploaded to the server. Then all local data is deleted and completely reloaded from the server.
When to use:
-
When there are data discrepancies between server and sales point
-
For problems with secondary terminals (only perform on the affected secondary terminal)
-
Upon instruction from bessa Support
Important for main sales points: Never perform synchronization during peak hours (for example at lunchtime), especially when secondary terminals are in use. Instead, prefer times before the start of the business day or after the day has been closed. A full synchronization temporarily stops all functions during this process (communication with secondary terminals, order display, bar, printers, online orders, etc.).
Important for secondary terminals: Do not synchronize all secondary terminals simultaneously, but one after another. Complete synchronization temporarily creates high load on the main sales point.
Upload Support Log
Requests the sales point to create, compress, and upload current log files to the server. After approximately 1-2 minutes, the log files will be available for download in the "Log Files" section.
Alternative: The function can also be executed directly on the sales point via Settings > Upload Support Log.
Restart Application
Restarts the bessa Kassa app. Unsynchronized data is automatically backed up before the restart.
Log Out
Performs a regular device logout. All unsynchronized data is automatically uploaded to the server beforehand.
After logout, the sales point license is available again for a new login.
Hardware ID
The Hardware ID is the unique serial number of the logged-in sales point system.
Automatic Login for MDM Devices
For MDM-managed devices (Sunmi, iMin, Orderman), you can manually enter the Hardware ID. The device will then log in automatically when the app starts – manual entry of username and password is no longer necessary.
Requirements for automatic login:
-
MDM-capable device (Sunmi, iMin, Orderman)
-
Hardware ID manually entered
-
Default user configured under Sales Points > Users
For more information on user configuration, see the article Manage Sales Point Users.
Disconnect Hardware
WARNING: Critical function with data loss!
This function forces the immediate disconnection of the hardware from the sales point license.
Critical consequences:
-
All unsynchronized data on the sales point is irretrievably lost
-
The device can no longer communicate with the server from this point on
-
The sales point license becomes available again for a new login after disconnection
When to use:
-
Device is defective and regular logout is no longer possible
-
Device has been stolen
-
Only as an absolute last resort!
Recommendation: Whenever possible, always use the "Log Out" function to avoid data loss.
Protocol Details
Sets the level of detail for log files. The new setting only takes effect after the change – existing logs remain unchanged.
Available Log Levels
-
DEBUG: Very detailed logging for comprehensive troubleshooting. Recommended for complex problems or upon instruction from Support.
-
INFO: Standard logging with all important events
-
WARNING: Logs only warnings and errors. Sufficient to detect structural problems such as network issues.
-
ERROR: Logs only error messages
Recommendation:
-
Normal use: WARNING
-
Troubleshooting: DEBUG (activate temporarily)
Log Files
This section provides the most recently available log files for download. Log files are automatically deleted after a certain period.
Creating Log Files
-
Click "Upload Support Log" (see Remote Control Functions)
-
Wait 1-2 minutes for the sales point to package, compress, and upload the logs
-
The log file appears in the list and can be downloaded
Note: You can also create support logs directly on the sales point via Settings > Upload Support Log.
