Assign users to your cash register to control who can log in to which device. Configuration is done via the bessa Kassa Manager and allows flexible deployment scenarios – from automatic login in self-service mode to targeted assignment of users to specific points of sale.
Overview
User management for cash registers includes two central settings:
-
Default User: The user who is automatically logged in (e.g., after the screensaver or for hardware ID-based login)
-
User List: All users who have access to this cash register and can log in
Use Cases
Multiple Points of Sale
For businesses with different areas (e.g., bakery with gastronomy and retail), you can assign separate user lists to each area.
Zone Responsibility
In gastronomy, you can assign waiters specific satellite terminals that are only responsible for certain areas (e.g., outdoor seating, indoor area).
Self-Service & Automatic Mode
For kiosk systems or automated points of sale, you can define a default user who is active without manual login.
Configure Default User
The default user is automatically logged in to the cash register when:
-
The cash register is unlocked after the screensaver
-
An automatic login with hardware ID occurs
-
The cash register is operated in automatic mode

-
Open the Location Management menu in the bessa Kassa Manager
-
Select the desired cash register

Manage User List
The user list determines which users can log in to this cash register. This is particularly important for:
-
Main Registers: Access for all employees at the location
-
Satellite Terminals: Restricted access for specific users (e.g., only service staff for certain areas)

-
Open the Location Management menu in the bessa Kassa Manager
-
Select the desired cash register or satellite terminal
-
Navigate to the Cash Register Users section
-
Click Add User in the User List section
-
Select the desired users from the list
-
Confirm the selection
-
Save the changes
Remove Users
-
Open the User List of the corresponding cash register
-
Click the Remove icon (X) for the user to be removed
-
Confirm the action
-
Save the changes
{warning}
Important: The user with whom you are currently logged into the bessa Kassa Manager must be present in the user list of the respective cash register or satellite terminal to be able to log in there.

Special Features for Satellite Terminals
When configuring satellite terminals, you have maximum flexibility:
-
Users of satellite terminals do not necessarily have to be available on the main register
-
Each satellite terminal can have an individual user list
-
However, the login user must be included in the user list on the respective device (main register or satellite terminal)
Example: A waiter for the outdoor seating can have access exclusively to the satellite terminal in the outdoor area without being able to log in to the main register in the indoor area.
