Deregister a business premises
If you want to close or pause operation at a location, deregister the business premises (poslovni prostor) with the tax authority. This too is done in the ePorezna portal — through the same application as registration — by you or your tax advisor.
A status change rather than a separate cash-register deregistration
In Croatia there is no separate cash-register deregistration. Instead you change the status of the business premises. Three status changes are possible:

Opening (otvaranje)

Temporary closure (privremeno zatvaranje) — e.g. for seasonal operation

Permanent closure (trajno zatvaranje)
Closing the business premises also ends its fiscalisation.
Status changes must be entered in the ePorezna portal within 45 days.
Seasonal operation
For seasonal operation, choose temporary closure and enter the opening again at the start of the season. A permanent closure is only needed when the business is given up for good.
