The Course request suppresses the automatic dispatch of Courses to printers and the Order Monitor. Service staff decide themselves when a course goes to the kitchen or counter — by tapping the course heading in the cart.
How It Works
With Course Request Disabled (default):
-
✅ All articles are dispatched to printers and the order monitor immediately on posting
-
❌ No manual release required
With Course Request Enabled:
-
✅ Articles without a course are still dispatched immediately
-
❌ Articles with a course are held back until release
-
✅ Release happens by tapping the course heading in the cart
-
✅ Articles posted after the first release can be released again via the same heading
Benefits
-
Pace control: Service staff decide when a course starts in the kitchen — based on the guests' dining tempo
-
No cold dishes: Main courses are only released once the appetisers have been cleared
-
Clear communication: Kitchen staff only see what is actually meant to be prepared
Use Case
Ideal for:
-
Upscale gastronomy with multi-course menus
-
Restaurants where courses are served in clearly separated stages
-
Establishments where courses are often released only after consulting the guest
Less suitable for:
-
Quick-service restaurants and à-la-carte venues without a course concept
-
Bars and cafés that only sell drinks or simple food
Configure a preparation time per article so that the order monitor automatically staggers the articles of a released course to finish at the same time.
