Receipt

A Receipt (DE: Beleg) is the fiscally signed document issued by the Sales Point for a business transaction. Every receipt is uniquely numbered, signed (see Fiscalisation), and kept on file. Depending on content and purpose, a receipt is called an Invoice, Startbeleg, Nullbeleg, or Schlussbeleg.

Also known as

  • Beleg — canonical term in bessa product interfaces.

  • Fiscal document — descriptive, highlights the fiscal signature.

Distinction

  • Receipt (this page) — umbrella term for any fiscally relevant Sales Point document.

  • Invoice — the payment receipt handed to the guest, listing articles, VAT rates, and payment methods; optionally with a billing recipient.

  • Bon — internal printout of an order (kitchen bon, drinks bon, delivery note); not a receipt, non-fiscal.
