Term: Daily Closeout

Daily Closeout

The Daily Closeout ends the operating day for a Hauptkasse together with all attached Sub-Terminals and automatically produces a Nullbeleg as required by the RKSV. It is the regulatory end-of-day procedure on the Sales Point side and must not be confused with the Terminal Closeout of the card terminal.

Also known as

  • Kassenabschluss — canonical term in bessa product interfaces.

  • End-of-day / EOD — common industry term.

Distinction

  • Daily Closeout (Kassenabschluss) closes the Sales Point side — RKSV-relevant, generates a Nullbeleg, records turnover per VAT rate and the receipt counter state.

  • Terminal Closeout (Terminalabschluss) closes the card terminal — a payment-provider operation, independent of the RKSV.

Both closeouts are typically performed daily but run independently of each other.
